- "O God, Our Words Cannot Express" an original hymn by Carolyn Winfrey Gillette, 2001, revised for 2011. ANNE 8.6.8.6 (“Our God, Our Help in Ages Past”).  YouTube has the Church World Service music video by Emmy winner Pete Staman of this hymn being sung by Noel Paul Stookey (of "Peter, Paul & Mary") with the Northfield Mount Herman School Choir.
- "God, We've Known Such Grief and Anger," an original hymn by Carolyn Winfrey Gillette, 2002. This hymn of lament lifts up Christian hope in face of disaster; it was commissioned by Presbyterian Disaster Assistance for the first anniversary of 9/11. Tune: IN BABILONE 8.7.8.7 D (“There's a Wideness in God's Mercy”).
- "How Lonely Now Sits the City" is an easy two-part anthem, accessible to most choirs for a first-Sunday-back piece. It is based on the book of Lamentations, and is mostly in a minor key, but for the middle section that affirms that God's love is new every day.
